That cold small hand, those severely trembling lips
Thinking nothing was happening, with head down
Are you afraid of remembering someone?
Suppressed words, in your mouth
The vague sight of that back* melts slowly like white snow

Like the stars never leave the dark night sky
Love is sharing an everlasting dream with trust**
If I could be that love
I would hug*** your frozen mind again
With an everlasting warm heart

Some lyrics from Love in the Ice, as translated by 맥 (and edited to make a little more sense in English) ^^ He's so nice.

He might translate more, idk yet. I guess I'll keep editing this post if he does.

*someone's back
**I think this is something like "sharing an everlasting dream by way of trust" or... "trusting in an everlasting dream together", if that helps clarify things at all
***I always want to replace this with "embrace" or "hold" xD; but you get the idea, even with hug - it's just not as elegant

I'm cancelling my movers. I can't deal with this stress. I can't pay for these finances. I'm just going to call, say sorry, and move my shit on my own. (Well, kind of - Anthony's decided to help with the box of books and the fandom bin and the futon.) There will be a cancellation fee. I'll pay it. There will be many trips made. I will be out all day. I still don't know how I'm going to get my computer over there. But whatever. This is the simplest solution. The end.

EDIT:

The first thing to go right with this move? The cancellation. There is no fee.

Second thing to go right? Liz's mom has agreed to help me move my computer with her car! \o/ I can carry the rest of my stuff, no problem, but the computer I was really concerned about - I don't trust myself to walk with it so many blocks down. *dies* Homg, yey.

You know, it's really productive to have a gigantic head/jawache from stress right when you need to work on something that would earn some money and thereby alleviate the source of the stress.

So... let's go to another happy jewelry place! I bring you--via [info]elisa0984--georgianjewelry.com. (Favorite pieces: the man in the moon earrings; the moonstone double heart ring; the moonstone heart pendant; the scalloped piqué hoops; the pearl heart pendant; the French locket. But then, I think I'm a sucker for the sun/moon/stars motif in general. And also, moonstones.)

So I call for a parking permit yesterday. The SF number refers me to another SF number. I figure "hey, maybe it's a Bay Area coverage thing." I get a number, instructions to fax, and get all that through. Only to be given a call that says "you need to call Berkeley PD."

I call Berkeley PD, go through at least two hours of hold time, getting transferred around all over the place... and am told that I should have called 72 hours in advance. Well, I explain the situation, and they tell me I have to call another dept to get the law waived for my situation. Except that dept is apparently out on the field, having a picnic.

Great.

So I call, leave a message, and now have to wait for someone to return my call. I'm going to call again in half an hour to follow up, see if anyone's picked up my message.

Without a parking permit for the truck, they can't actually help me. The trucks would have nowhere to park. So I'd have to call Starving Students and be like "Hey, never mind." And then they'd probably charge me some kind of a fee for absolutely no help at all.

And I've still got to move all my shit from this apt AND the old one to the new place on Thursday.

8D This moving thing is going to drive me crazy. Or to tears. Whichever first.

Oh, and yes. I am aware I'm a dumbass for not realizing I might need a parking permit for a giant moving truck. I should have gotten this done way in advance. x-x; I'm not so good at taking care of myself as I thought.

Happy birthday to [info]annephoenix and [info]gingergirl1977. Hope you both had lovely days.

And I was accepted onto [info]harry_holidays. I'm actually pretty nervous about writng for them as some of the stuff in previous years has been amazing. And yes, I'm fully aware that I'm thinking about Christmas type exchanges in August and I kvetch at Kye for wanting Christmas now. Sue me. I'm a hypocrite.

Well they picked the right image for the cover, because that picture embodies the entire atmosphere of Forth. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is yet to be seen.

Something about Ashcroft's voice is kinda irking me, though. Maybe it's just my speakers. But obviously... ten years have gone by since their last album (take THAT, Gackt "fans", the Verve releases four albums in twenty years! Gackt's released twice as many in less than half the time!) so his voice is a lot deeper, as is to be expected. Where it used to carry a lot of the songs, somehow here it seems to drag them down. Valium Skies is a prime example. It's the one song that really stood out for me and I would be in love with it if it weren't for the fact that Richard doesnt sing on the potentially beautiful chorus so much as he grinds it out. Like I said, it may just be my speakers, but...

The albums seems to get better as it goes on, as Nick brings home the psychedelia. He's good at that. Si gets a nice solo beginning in on one of the songs, too... I forget which one =B But that's nice. He and Pete get kinda left out sometimes I think. Valium Skies and Noise Epic are my initial favorites. None of the songs are really bad, per se, theyre just nothing special. Nothing very edgy or memorable. I'm sure it'll grow on me though. Most Verve stuff does. There are very few Verve songs that havent grown on me. In fact I can only think of three. After all, I somehow didnt like Gravity Grave or Life's an Ocean at first, and now theyre staples of my playlist. Something tells me the media isn't going to go very easy on it, though. They never do. People love to rip on the Verve because they somehow take their self-importance personally. As I said before, the Verve fandom is near rivaling the dir en grey fandom as far as wankery goes.

The new Verve CD is available to hear in its entirety on their myspace page (it's officially released next week). I'm on the third track right now and unfortunately... it doesnt feel Vervey to me yet. The first and third songs (the second song is their new single, which I've heard already and havent cared for) sound like something that could be on an Ashcroft solo album. Granted my computer's speakers are crap so I'm probably losing some of the soundtracks, but seems like it needs moar guitar. *pulls Nick out from behind giant speakers* WTF YOU DOIN BACK HERE

A Storm in Heaven was so trippy... A Northern Soul was so innovative... Urban Hymms was so streamlined but still full of gems... And so far with Forth I'm kinda bored D=

Okay the fourth song isnt bad. It's channeling their early 90s sound. I think I can work with this one. If you compare it to their earlier stuff it seems Vervier. Can't compare it to Urban Hymns because it's a different style.

We'll see.

Got an appointment with Merry tonight. I'm looking forward to it.

I WANT TO SEE THIS BAND AGAIN.
Holy shit. They're so amazing.

In case I hadn't made it clear when I was talking about that live in Kawasaki after the fact, they're one of the best bands I've ever seen live.
Ignore the fact that I keep almost doing the little para para moves to the songs while I'm listening out of reflex. Because I'm a total nerd.

...Okay, okay, the morning after, I probably shouldn't've called Bela Karolyi a bast**d. Or his wife a b***h.

But I wish they would keep their mouths shut. Why?

Well, the NY Times reporting an article that suggests Chinese gymnasts are underage - well, that's doing their jobs. Marta Karolyi saying, on the floor, "Oh, look at the little babies!" is, er, not. Bela Karolyi claiming that judging miscalls coincidentally, omfg, gave China three medals they didn't deserve! Did anybody else get unfair medals? Um... I never heard Bela complain. Calling the Chinese gymnasts half-people and seven-year-olds, by turn? Right after saying no one could do anything about it?

I would probably be taking this better if I didn't believe that the Karolyis are only saying these things because they're Romanian and Romanians hate all people they perceive as Communists. E.g. the Romanian transfer student at school calling me a Communist b***h.

And them badmouthing the Chinese really does nothing for Team USA. China can and will overreact, if some of their comments get translated and given airtime.

ETA: This apparently needs clarification, so I'll explain: I'm not saying how old I think the girls are. I don't have an opinion on that. But there is absolutely no reason for the Karolyis to act like they have. Does acting bitter help anyone? They could have been martyrs, but now they're just sore losers looking for excuses...
